The different services of an operating systems(OS)

Operating System is a controller or communicator or mediator in between the user to computer input data to output operation and hardware components to software technique that means Overall operating system playing as a vital role in Computer platform.

Generally an operating system provides different types of services to their user.

They are :-

  •      I.          Program execution :-

While an user wants to execute any job or program then that is initially loaded inside the memory then after that an operating system read the features of the program and then finally start its execution .so that program execution is consider a  better services by an operating system.

  •   II.          I/O operation:-

Actually an user inputted data with the help of any one of the input device for their execution and finally i.e. converted into a meaning full form as per an output . That means an operating system converted an input operation to output operation.

  • III.          File system Manipulation: -

File is an area of a computer where we keep some information . while an user create a file then an operating system loaded that file inside the FAT i.e. file allocation table. As well as , while we are loading a software then automatically supported system. Files are loaded inside the file allocation table by an operating. System.

An operating system also allowing the users to perform certain operations based on that file like create, open ,read, write, happened , seek , copy , paste, rename, delete, close etc.

  • IV.          Communication:-

As per as the prior permission by an operating system, the communication process are going on in between the input device to memory, Memory to ALU as well as , memory to output device , that means the communication process is going on in between input device to output device .as well as primary memory to secondary memory for transmitting the data for further execution.

  •   V.          Error Detection :-

Error detection is the main function o f an operating system while an user request to execute a job then an operating system will check the structure, either it is matched or not. If some mismatched is found then an operating system unable to execute and consider to be as an error.

  • VI.          Resource Allocation :-

Whatever required to an operating system to execute a particular job is known as resource. Before staff an execution of user request an operating system will check either the required resources are available or not. That required resource may be a system file or hardware components or software techniques.

  • VII.          Accounting :-

While an user request an operating system for an execution of more number of jobs then before start an operation of those jobs , an operation system prepare a scheduled to execute on after another . that means the preparing scheduled if self is called as an accounting.

  • VIII.          Protection :-

The technique through which an operating system protect our files & document against an unauthorized user is known as protection .Generally for protection. We people are providing the pass word. of the providing password  is match then an operating system allowing the user for further processing.
